Rose Bay Secondary College hosted a Bands Workshop Day on Thursday August 16 for some Primary Schools in the eastern suburbs. Woollahra, Double Bay, Randwick, Daceyville, Bondi Beach, Bellevue Hill Public Schools rehearsed two pieces with our Bands Director, Mr Murray Jackson. This culminated in a concert for parents that night. Each school also performed their own repertoire during the concert. Rose Bay Secondary College Junior Band students played alongside the Primary students and acted as mentors. Some students from Senior Bands also assisted. MEP parents supplied a BBQ prior to the concert as a fundraising activity.
Congratulations to all participants and the bands director, Mr Murray Jackson. Below are some feedback comments from three of the Principals:
“We have had a wonderful day at Rose Bay Secondary College with 170 musicians from Double Bay PS, Woollahra PS, Randwick PS, Bellevue Hill PS, Bondi Beach PS and Daceyville PS, mentored by members of the Rose Bay SC Junior Stage and Concert bands.
Tonight’s concert was amazing.
Thank you to the principals, teachers, parents, family and supporters who made this a very special occasion.”

Bondi Beach Public School
“Thanks so much for involving us in such a great initiative. Being a smaller school our kids don’t often get to perform in such a large ensemble and they loved it. I was at the concert last night and the buzz amongst our kids and parents was fabulous. The parents have been sending me through photos and video clips all morning.
I also really enjoyed seeing some of your students perform who I have previously taught. Partnerships between the primary schools and high schools in our area are so important and we really appreciate all of your hard work in making yesterday’s workshop and last night’s concert happen.”
